When creating Transactions in the Document Agility system, users gather information that defines and describes a business transaction using one or more data-collection interviews. Patterns help to speed your progress in capturing business transactions within interviews by pre-filling in parts of the interview such that they are already answered in a certain way. Not all types of business transactions lend themselves to using patterns during data collection, however, for transactions that do, Patterns can save a good deal of time in data input.
Working with Patterns
When you create a new transaction on the New Transaction screen, one of the choices presented is to select the creation method for the transaction. One of the options (if Patterns are available for the transaction type you are creating) is From a pattern data set, which will pre-fill the data-collection interview with answers from the Pattern you select from the selection box beneath this option.
Creating and Editing Patterns
If you have the required permissions, you will be able to create and edit pattern for use by Content Creators within your organization. This topic is covered in detail in the System Administration area on Patterns. In general, a user with permissions to create and edit patterns will be able to view patterns on their My Workspace screen, access patterns from this screen to edit or delete them, and create new patterns using in their New Transaction screen.
TIP - Patterns can be created and edited only by a user with the required permissions to do so.
